Climate-KIC* is Europe’s largest public-private innovation partnership addressing climate change. Since 2012 I have worked for Climate-KIC as a freelancer: the first four years as a mentor of Pioneers into Practice in Bologna (Italy) and since 2016 as a freelance Climate-KIC training partner. In 2016 I have reviewed the 'toolkit for systemic innovation training' and worked as an assessor in the pilot phase of the 'Accelerating Sustainable Transition' certificate. Check the website of Certified Professional, to download the competency framework for Accelerating Transition or to have your competencies assessed.
Certified Professional was initiated because our world is continuously changing – digitalization is omnipresent, the population is aging, millions of people are relocating, and the climate is warming. This affects all of us. The challenges ahead are complex and unpredictable. Climate-KIC Certified Professional introduces a pan-European standard for the postgraduate job market, emphasizing competencies that will make the workforce fit to tackle these challenges.
To address different requirements, three strands of certificates have been identified:
- Accelerating Sustainable Transition
- Promoting Sustainable Innovation
- Driving Sustainable Entrepreneurship
This new certification scheme will be fully launched in 2017.
*Climate-KIC is one of three Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs) created in 2010 by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT). The EIT is an EU body whose mission it is to create sustainable growth, by addressing climate change mitigation and adaptation.
